Chicago mini tango festival part 2

April 16th
First workshop was basic milonga choreography with Maria Plazaola. Basically we learned a pattern. Although we are not supposed to dance in patterns, but for me it is still a necessary way to enlarge one's dancing vocabulary.

And, Anna, the lady who helped Maria's teaching, wore a black and red dancing shoe combination in the milonga the night before. It was awesome!

Chicago mini tango festival April 14-17

Chicago mini tango festival. I have been to maybe one dozen of milonga by now, but for tango festival this is still my first one.

April 14th
Qian and I left Bloomington with my little green mustang later afternoon. We got there late and only caught the night milonga. To our surprise Robert and Lisa were also at the festival! Also we found that the dancing floor was quite crazy. Not it was super crowded, but basically nobody respect the line of dance... Anyway still really excited.

April 15th
Running around Chicago downtown the whole morning to sort out passport issue. Then we went to Chicago Dancing Supply to check out the tango shoes (NeoTango looks great!). It was located in a lovely neighborhood with kind of B-town's hippie feeling.
We were late for the afternoon workshop. The first one was taught by María Plazaola about turning in milonguero style.
And I just spend more than 2 hour to make this diagram...

Hint: 后半圈其实是一个很平易实用的sacada动作。出腿时记得跟上转圈。
